FlashChat - Customizable Flash Chat Room
Put a highly customizable chatroom right on your website. Works with most PHP/MySQL forums and portals, or as a stand-alone chatroom. Can be used in a live-support configuration, as a "registered users only" chat, or as a "free-for-all" chat.
Special Features:
- Fully customizable - dozens of options for configuration and display are available in external configuration files. Over 200 options and counting as of version 3.9!
- Live support mode - FlashChat can be set up in a "live support" mode, whereby customers can log in and privately chat with a moderator, who acts as a customer support individual. To see an example of this in action, click here. (note: you may wish to have two instances of this open, so that you can login as customer in one instance, and as a support person in the second instance).
- Supports integration with many PHP/MySQL portals and bulletin boards. See the list below (with integration instructions) to see which systems FlashChat is able to integrate with. By integration, what I mean is that users draw from your system user database, and administrators of your system instantly become moderators of the chat!
- User-defined rooms. Users now have the option to create public or private forums. You can easily disable this option in the layout configuration files.
- Invite feature - invite other users to join you in private or public chat rooms. This also exists as an IRC option. This option can also be disabled using FlashChat`s configuration files.
- Language support - over a dozen languages are available for the FlashChat interface, even Klingon and Pig Latin! Multi-bye languages like Chinese and Japanese are also fully supported. If you don`t see the language that you need, you can quickly add it to FlashChat (no programming required!)
- Layout configuration - easily hide any aspect of the FlashChat interface by modifying php-based configuration files. You can also set the default layout - for example, if you wish to have the room list appear on the left instead of the right side of the screen.
- Ability to specify max # of users per room, and the maximum "idle time" for users.
- Ability to move and dock the interface panels using an intuitive drag-and-drop interface.
- Advanced, custom-designed smilies including "globe", "check", and "rose", which were created especially for FlashChat. With a small amount of Flash know-how, you can easily add more smilies, too. Smilies are small .swf files which are loaded dynamically at run-time. You can also change the "tag" line for any smilie... for example, if you wish to use ":*" instead of ":-", etc. These codes are set in the config.php file.
- Advanced sound support - assign external MP3 files to specific actions in FlashChat`s interface. Also, you can set the default sound settings for FlashChat using the config.php file (for example, which sounds should be muted by default, etc.)
- Bad words list - this is fully customizable. Not only can you add/remove bad words very quickly, you can assign specific "substitutes" for any specific bad word.
